Sin embargo, todos comparten el espíritu deportivo y la intención de ser un carro de carreras hecho para disfrutar en las calles. Cadillac CTS-V Coupe: Ahora que ha llegado el Cadillac CTS Coupé, poco tardará en llega la versión extrema. Este carro estará animado por el V8 de 556 HP que lleva su hermano sedán. De la misma manera, la suspensión deportiva y la transmisión serán heredadas de la versión sedán de este carro.
¿Por qué es importante? Después de mucho luchar, tenemos un carro americano capaz de ponerle el pie a las variantes AMG de Mercedes y a los M de BMW. Debajo de su robusta imagen se esconde un motor muy poderoso que le transmitirá al conductor sensaciones indescriptibles. Por medio del CTS-V Coupé (como con el sedán y el Corvette ZR1), GM demostrará que sí sabe hacer carros para los amantes de la automoción (ya tiene el Corvette). Este será el muscle car americano del siglo XXI.

Ferrari F458 Italia: El F458 Italia marca una nueva era en cuanto a tecnología se refiere para los carros de Ferrari. Lleva un motor V8 de 4,5 litros con 570 HP, que lo catapultan en 3,1 segundos hasta las 60 mph, y alcanza 220 mph de velocidad de punta. Además, la gestión de suspensiones, transmisión y acelerador será la más cercana a la de un carro de Fórmula 1 que hasta ahora hayamos conocido.
¿Por qué es importante? No sólo es un carro exótico, no sólo es un carro bonito, no sólo es muy rápido, es el futuro de Ferrari. Entre los muchos elementos destacables que tiene, está que es el carro más económico y menos contaminante que ha hecho Ferrari; en su desarrollo participó profundamente Michael Schumacher, representa un nuevo estilo de diseño para la casa, habrá variante Spider y está preparado para una versión híbrida. Pero, lo mejor de todo, pese a todo eso, seguirá siendo un Cavallino Rampante tradicional.

Chevrolet today unveiled the hottest Camaro ever at the Chicago Auto Show, a 550-horsepower hardtop that’s packed with performance technology and revives one of the most famous names in Chevy performance history: ZL1.
Chevy calls its 2012 Camaro ZL1 “the highest-performing Camaro and the most technically advanced car ever developed in its class,” featuring high-technology chassis and suspension for track-ready handling, Brembo braking that complements the engine power and extensive aerodynamic features for high-speed driving.
The ZL1 name comes from the all-aluminum racing engine developed in the late 1960s that was installed in just 69 regular-production 1969 Camaros, which have become the Holy Grail for GM-muscle-car collectors.
The modern ZL1 uses a 6.2-liter supercharged aluminum V8 that produces 550 horsepower coupled with a six-speed manual transmission with a dual-disc clutch system.
“It’s the most technically advanced Camaro ever, so we’ve chosen a name from the most elite and exclusive Camaro in history,” said Rick Scheidt, vice president of Chevrolet marketing.
The Camaro ZL1 is still undergoing advanced testing and development by performance engineers with a product launch planned for early 2012. Key performance figures and pricing will be available later this year.
Ed Welburn, vice president of Global Design, introduced the Camaro ZL1 today at the Chicago show, pointing out the design features that specifically enhance performance rather than just aesthetics, including its new front fascia and hood with air extractors, designed to create aerodynamic down force.
“Everything about the ZL1’s design is directly related to its technology and serious performance, especially aerodynamics,” said Ed Welburn, vice president, Global Design. “Our designers’ goal was to execute that function-oriented design with beautifully sculpted forms, creating an imposing, powerful persona. Function becomes the aesthetic. The intent is a car that delivers on the attitude it projects.”
Among the special styling features are a signature center hood section constructed of carbon fiber with a satin black finish, new rocker panels, wide performance tires, 20-inch wheels, styled exhaust tips and ZL1 badges on the grille, hood and brake calipers.
